Have you ever wondered how you can really touch lives in Thailand? Not by giving money or things, but by reaching out to individuals yourself?
CCC’s ESL program is in a unique position to do that, and we’ve been particularly blessed this year.
By inviting community members into the sanctuary each Tuesday night we’re able to share the gospel and then split into groups based on level of English proficiency. In those groups we teach speaking, reading, and writing English.
At the beginning of each term we ask students to complete a simple registration form. The forms tell us that our students are men and women from age 10 to 70 who do anything and everything: full-time students, bankers, drivers, maids, retail workers, nail salon owners, massage therapists, and customer service representatives – to name a few.
We make the most of CCC’s spaces – with groups in the sanctuary, the new conference room, downstairs classrooms, and even in the lobby!
We’re especially grateful for all of the space CCC has to offer us – we registered record numbers of students this Fall! Over 100 registered and our average attendance each night so far has been 94.
Students and teachers both come in and leave each week with such joyful hearts. And by way of this ministry, students can then follow into the Thursday night Thai Bible Study group for more focused study on God’s word. If you have questions or want to come see us in action, follow us on Facebook or reach out to Susan Yates at esl@cccthailand.org.
