On December 14, a group of 28 CCC members drove to Mae Sot to spend the weekend spreading the love of Jesus and celebrating Christmas with three ministries that are supported by CCC through Outward Ministries:
Thoo Mweh Khee School
Faith Haus (part of Elpis Ministries)
Htee Moo Draw School.
CCC members donated money and supplies to help us bless these ministries through this trip.
Day one consisted of playing games, face painting, and handing out gifts to the 250 students at the Htee Moo Draw #8 school located in the Mae La refugee camp on the Thai/Myanmar border. CCC’s support helps the school teach and mentor the children in their faith – growing disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our second activity of the day was caroling after dinner with the girls from Faith Haus. Faith Haus is a safe house for girls at risk of being trafficked — where they are loved, educated, and taught to be witnesses of Jesus to their neighbors. That evening, we sang to a number of migrant Burmese families, and gave them each a bucket packed with food. CCC helped fund the food buckets, enabling the girls to show the love of Jesus to these families.
Day two started with a visit to Faith Haus, and helping the girls put on a Christmas party for local migrant children. Every Saturday, the local children come for a children’s church service and lunch. This Saturday was extra special with games, face painting, candy canes, and gifts for each child. We were also able to bless the girls with gifts for each of them.
