Encouraging Women

The Women’s Ministry of Chaengwattana Community Church, known as “Encouraging Women” or EW, is an international, interdenominational group of women committed to glorifying God. EW is an encouraging and supportive environment that welcomes all women. This includes those attending bible study for the first time to those who desire to deepen their knowledge and understanding of God. Our purpose is to disciple women as they grow in their personal relationship with Jesus through instruction in God’s Word, while equipping them for spiritual leadership.

We hope that each woman who attends EW will experience continuous spiritual growth through learning God’s Word.  EW is a welcoming and loving environment where each woman feels met where she is in her walk with God, and is encouraged and supported during her time in Thailand.

Encouraging Women Ministry Report 2021-2022
In Summer 2021,  EW met weekly online to study lessons from RightNow Media. We chose the series“How to Study the Bible”. We were thankful for time in the Word and sharing prayer requests even though we could not meet in person due to COVID-19. EW also welcomed new neighbors to Nichada by delivering baked goods and plants in hopes that this would welcome new ladies to EW.
In September 2021, we kicked-off the semester with a social at CCC. It was a good time of food and fellowship. We met weekly through December with two groups meeting to study the book, “Women of the Word” by Jen Wilkin. One group met online and the other group met in person at CCC. EW also hosted a prayer meeting on a Friday evening in September to especially pray for families and teachers as students returned to in-person school and any other prayer requests during the meeting.
EW hosted a potluck lunch for fellowship in October for a time to connect in-person. Lastly for the semester, EW volunteered to decorate the church at CCC for Christmas. At the beginning of 2022, EW hosted a kick-off social at Sweet Poppy and enjoyed reconnecting after the holidays.
This semester, we are studying Jen Wilkin’s video based series of 1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ. We have two groups meeting weekly again this semester. In April, EW planned a pool party social in the evening so all EW participants could attend.
For Easter, EW ladies contributed by providing food, resources and cooking for prisoners in IDC. In May, we have plans to do a service project and a farewell social for members who are moving away from Nichada. We also plan to have prayer walks around Nichada to pray for our neighbors as well as specific requests. We praise God for how ladies are growing in the Word and fellowship together.
We continue to pray that EW will be a blessing in building one another in our faith and hope in Jesus alone. Many ladies contribute to facilitating our studies and provide for our fellowship times. Lord willing, we hope to welcome new neighbors this summer and possibly plan a retreat at some point.
We are praying for God’s wisdom as we plan for the future but ultimately trust that God will direct our steps for God’s glory.
To God be the Glory!

Dorothy Dapaa. EW Facilitator
